tree surgeons wielding digital chainsaws:
Oral histories overwritten and overridden
by online phenomena, viral one-hit wonders,
two million views today, gone tomorrow,
as faceless and forgotten as the ancestors
from whom the tales sprang, but without
the legacy, morality or cultural identity.
