Peak Discontent

We have reached peak discontent.
That exquisitely poised moment as the
fabric of ideological time holds its breath:
the pendulum pauses
before momentum reverses travel in
the equal and opposite direction,
sending the mechanisms of upheaval
into motion. Vast and hidden, it will take
decades for these actions to be truly
seen or felt, generations for the full
arc to be completed.
If it weren’t for climate change, we’d
rise to give an ovation. As it is, we stand
on tired feet for a minute’s silence.
