Brown is the backdrop, the grounding medium,
hoarded, assembled and carefully layered.
Black is the dance, the movement, exuberance,
dervish energy, fiercely channelled.
White is the story, humanity harnessed,
faithfully rendered with patience and love.
Brown, black and white: society’s spectrum,
expressions of citizenship of the Earth.
Setting and circumstance, bodies in action,
writing relational histories with breath;
whirling in feverish toil and tomfoolery,
quiet and focused in moments of awe.
